About Us
We are the online magazine for female high-flyers on a journey towards balanced success.
High Flying Design started as a boutique web design studio.
When was that, you ask? The start of 2020. Yes, right before the pandemic hit. Let’s just say it wasn’t the smoothest takeoff.
Our very first clients were hair and beauty business owners who had been forced to close their salon doors during lockdown. As a web design studio, we allowed them to take their businesses online through a combination of e-commerce and digital marketing. And they all survived those tough months. That’s the difference the right website and digital strategy will make!
Through our web design studio, we then started working with fellow female high-flyers across all kinds of industries.
Whether they sold services or products, our clients all started their business to make an actual difference, were passionate and invested rather than being only about profits and knew they were meant for more.
After our first few years as a boutique web design studio, we realised something was missing: a sense of sisterhood and community.
How could we help those fellow high-flyers who’re still trying to figure out how to start their own business? And what about the ones looking to scale it in a way that’s authentic to them? And most importantly: how could we empower them to stay motivated and feel that they’re not alone on their journey of professional and personal growth?
That’s when we remembered that the right in-flight magazines make the journey more pleasant—and, in our case, help you get to your destination faster and more confidently.
So, we pivoted and relaunched High Flying Design as the online magazine, community and launchpad for founders on a journey toward balanced success.

Meet Shannon, the founder of our online magazine
One of the biggest reasons why we help female high-flyers like you achieve their potential? Because we know you might not always have someone who does.
You see, it was Shannon’s childhood dream to found her own business (before she really knew what that meant). As a teenager, she realized that what she wanted to do was make her blog her business. Sadly, from her family to the people around her, she was made to feel like it wasn’t realistic. Or that she couldn’t have done it on her own terms.
That’s why it took her a while to find her vision after graduating with a first class BA (Hons) in Fashion Journalism, and fully commit to her online magazine.
Of course, she’s grateful for her journey. But sometimes she can’t help wondering whether she could have gotten there sooner and more confidently if only she had been given the right tools and support. If only someone had made her feel like it was indeed possible for her!
So, that’s exactly what she does now through High Flying Design.
“I’m here to help other ambitious women climb their own mountain. High Flying Design is a supportive and judgement-free zone where you can find your authentic path and break free from the limitations placed on you by others. Because, even though things might feel scary or overwhelming right now, trust me: nothing is out of reach for high-flyers like us.”
You’ll usually find her working from cafe with yet another iced latte, taking a stroll by the sea, or ice-skating.
